With the beginning of the second year of uCAIR research and innovation partners gather in person, kindly hosted by Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS in Brno, Czech Republic, on January 22 and 23, 2025.
The meetings targeted at updating one another on the project progress focusing on the practical implementation issues of the 1st Project Period. During the second year, uCAIR will combine their partners’ efforts to bring the first uCAIR imaging system (uCAIR1) system running.
In the meantime, significant progress has been made in the development of all the modules that comprise this novel Raman-based imaging platform. All partners are eagerly looking forward to the system integration phase, which will take place at the University of Limerick. In parallel, more complex cell and tissue benchmarking specimens are being prepared, as well as urine and biopsy tissue samples. Microfluidic chips are being tested for in vitro experiments. On the software side, AI-based expert system for image reconstruction is being developed and continuously trained.
