A major technical milestone for uCAIR: In early April, German industrial partner LLS Rowiak completed and delivered the beam alignment and control module – a key component for synchronized, multi-wavelength Raman spectroscopy.
This advanced optical module combines four laser beams of different wavelengths into one output, achieving precise spatial and temporal alignment of picosecond pulses. The system even exceeded performance targets, reaching 60% transmission of laser power – well above the initial 50% goal.
The module is now at the University of Limerick, ready for integration and testing once the laser module from partner Multitel (Belgium) arrives.
This achievement brings the uCAIR 1 platform another step closer to its goal: modular, high-resolution, real-time spectroscopy for single-cell and reaction monitoring.
